Amy has always loved science fiction—books, movies, shows, and games. She was born in San Diego, California, and moved with her family to Vancouver, Washington, at the age of seven. After devouring some of the classics like Dune and Ender's Game in her tween years, she began writing science fiction and fantasy short stories.

In the ensuing years, Amy attended the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, where she continued to study creative writing, visual art and played viola in the school orchestra. During this time, she began the very early sketches of what would eventually evolve into the Cadicle series.

Amy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Portland State University, and also pursued minors in Professional Writing and Business Administration. After graduating, she moved to Portland, Oregon, and began working in business development for an energy efficiency consulting firm. Over the next several years, she primarily wrote proposals to prospective utility clients and managed the proposal development process. She then transitioned from energy efficiency into the architectural, engineering and planning industry. However, she eventually succumbed to the writing bug.

Now a full-time author, Amy currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband. When she's not writing, she enjoys travel, wine tasting, binge-watching TV series, and playing epic strategy board games.

PLOT SYNOPSIS - Crossroads of Fate (Cadicle Vol. 5)

The Primus Elites' training is almost complete and Wil finally masters simultaneous observation. Wil, Saera, and his men relocate to H2 to make their final preparations. A special spaceship has been constructed for him, which will focus and channel the telekinetic abilities of his team. Everything seems to be staged for a swift TSS victory over the Bakzen as Wil assumes the position of TSS Supreme Commander.

With Wil in H2, Banks investigates the information the Aesir gave him regarding a lost Dainetris heir. He learns there's a woman on Tararia and goes to meet with her. The genetic match between her line and Sietinen is the missing key to correct the loss of telekinetic abilities. Banks strikes a deal to have a child with the woman, but he cannot be connected to them.

With the TSS now getting the upper hand in the war, Tek and Haersen realize that Saera is Wil's greatest vulnerability and decide to go after her. Tek presents Wil with a choice for Saera or the destruction of a planet. It's an impossible choice, but Wil chooses Saera because the emotional devastation of losing her would compromise him. Even so, the decision brings him close to his breaking point, and he has to send Saera back to Headquarters so he can focus on the battles ahead.

Wil plans out a battle strategy to lure the Bakzen toward H2 in an ambush attack, but the Bakzen know it's also their opportunity to make a move. While the TSS fleet is engaged at H2, the Bakzen launch an assault on TSS Headquarters. Banks is forced to sacrifice himself to save their home. Wil wins the fight at H2 only to find that his mentor is dead.

In one final push, the TSS launches an assault on the Bakzen homeworld, where Wil faces off against Tek. Wil ultimately destroys the planet with his raw telekinetic ability channeled through the ship. The remaining Bakzen are soon hunted down and killed by the rest of the TSS fleet.

Emotionally devastated over what he's done, Wil falls into a deep depression before he decides to leave Headquarters and try to reconnect with himself. With Banks gone and Wil in no state to lead, Cris steps up as TSS High Commander and Saera becomes Lead Agent. After months away, Wil returns with a new commitment to destroy the real enemy: the Priesthood.
