Amy has always loved science fiction—books, movies, shows, and games. She was born in San Diego, California, and moved with her family to Vancouver, Washington, at the age of seven. After devouring some of the classics like Dune and Ender's Game in her tween years, she began writing science fiction and fantasy short stories.

In the ensuing years, Amy attended the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, where she continued to study creative writing, visual art and played viola in the school orchestra. During this time, she began the very early sketches of what would eventually evolve into the Cadicle series.

Amy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Portland State University, and also pursued minors in Professional Writing and Business Administration. After graduating, she moved to Portland, Oregon, and began working in business development for an energy efficiency consulting firm. Over the next several years, she primarily wrote proposals to prospective utility clients and managed the proposal development process. She then transitioned from energy efficiency into the architectural, engineering and planning industry. However, she eventually succumbed to the writing bug.

Now a full-time author, Amy currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband. When she's not writing, she enjoys travel, wine tasting, binge-watching TV series, and playing epic strategy board games.

PLOT SYNOPSIS - Scions of Change (Cadicle Vol. 7)
Almost a year after joining the TSS, the twins and Ryan go on a field trip to the rift with the other Agent trainees as part of their education about the Bakzen War. While on the trip, Wil has a one-on-one meeting with Raena, and they realize her abilities are even more advanced than Wil's. Wil knows the Priesthood will fight the overthrow and hopes that maybe Raena can glean some insight by looking into the Nexus with the Aesir. She agrees to be tested early.
Raena and Wil go meet with the Aesir, where Raena has a vision of victory over the Priesthood with Ryan at her side. They then go to visit the Aesir's home and find they are far greater in numbers than Wil ever expected and are willing to help bring down the Priesthood. Wil and Raena return to Headquarters, and Raena affirms her commitment to Ryan and that they were meant to be together—on Tararia. Two months later, Raena and Ryan leave the TSS training program to go study with Cris on Tararia. Soon after arriving, they go to investigate the lost Dainetris Dynasty estate and discover vital information that will aid in their efforts to bring down the Priesthood.
In the following years, Cris, Kate, Raena, and Ryan get everything in place to make a political case for taking down the Priesthood. Raena has adjusted to the life of a politician and dynastic heiress on Tararia with Ryan, while Jason has excelled in his training at TSS Headquarters.
Jason takes the Aesir’s test, and they hope his vision will offer direction for the final moves to take down the Priesthood. However, he sees only an encroaching darkness and fears the Aesir’s intentions might not be as honorable as they believed. Wil and Jason agree that Jason to graduate without taking the official CR test, assigning him the same CR that Wil achieved. They begin working with other members of the TSS on weaponized telekinesis in preparation for the final fight.
On Tararia, Ryan is confirmed as an official High Dynasty heir. In the process, they realize the Priesthood’s corruption has spread to other parts of the Tararian government. On the way back to the Sietinen estate, Cris, Kate, Raena, and Ryan are attacked by the Tararian Guard operating on the Priesthood’s orders, and they are forced to crash-land in a secret entrance to the estate. Once inside, Raena and Ryan are married in a rushed ceremony to solidify Ryan’s social standing.
The next morning, Cris leads a meeting with the High Dynasty representatives to vote for the Priesthood’s removal. After some convincing, the vote passes. As soon as the vote is recorded, the Priesthood sends more military forces to surround the Sietinen estate. Meanwhile, the TSS positions the fleet to prevent any High Priests from fleeing to the rift. However, the Tararian Guard forces are substantial, and they need to figure out a way to quickly deescalate the situation before it turns into an all-out multi-front battle between the TSS and Tararian Guard. The Aesir fleet arrives just in time, following through on their promise.
The other worlds are secured with the Aesir’s help, but the Priesthood’s island fortress still stands. Raena insists that she help capture the island because she had left the other captives there and promised to come back for them. She sneaks in a back way with Jason to free the women. Meanwhile, Wil goes in with a TSS team and captures the head High Priest. As they are escorting him out, the High Priests suddenly link minds and begin drawing on the energy of everyone around them as a last-ditch effort to ascend. Working together, Wil, Raena, and Jason are able to break the hold using their combined abilities and subdue the High Priests once and for all.
Following the Priesthood’s formal removal, Cris puts forth a vote for the High Dynasties’ corporations to become public companies to better serve the people and hold leaders accountable. The TSS begins a transformation into a learning institution now that the threat of war has passed. Justice has been served, and a new era for the Taran civilization is ready to begin.
