Okay, so it turns out that filming a movie is a lot of work (shocker, right?!)! I've watched behind-the-scenes footage from film sets before, but the real thing was an entirely different experience.
First off, I loved the team spirit of the experience; it reminded me somewhat of my past life as a proposal manager, working with a small group on a tight deadline to make the best finished product we could. We had a wonderful team and got to joke around in addition to doing some awesome filmmaking. We were putting in 16-hour days for a week and a half, so I'm exhausted but energized.
I've never been able to see professional lighting and filming up close before, so it was super cool to see the techniques to get the perfect shot, from the special sprays to partially block out lights to using a fogger to add mist into interior shots. I don't think I'll ever look at TV or movies quite the same way again!
Here are a few shots from behind the scenes.
